What We Offer
School-Based Services
-
We provide comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for districts- initial and re-evaluations alike- delivered via telehealth and built to meet IDEA timelines. A reliable option when you're facing a backlog, staffing gap, or need an objective outside evaluator.
-
Telehealth OT sessions that help students meet IEP goals in fine motor, sensory, self-regulation, and functional skills. We work as an extension of your team, providing students with a service provider and staying connected with teachers and families.
-
Ongoing supervision for COTAs, including check-ins, treatment plan review, and documentation oversight in line with state requirements. A flexible way to keep quality and compliance in place without adding a full-time OTR to staff.
-
Guidance for private schools navigating student support without the same mandates as public districts- from identifying when a student may benefit from OT to setting up accommodations and staff strategies. A practical way to support students and teachers without committing to a full evaluation or ongoing services.
Geriatric Services
-
Thrive in Motion OT partners with Directors of Rehab (DORs) to provide remote occupational therapy support within skilled nursing facilities- helping cover caseload gaps, staffing shortages, or fluctuating census without the delays of an in-person hire. We work as an extension of your rehab team, supporting documentation, treatment planning, and care goals for your residents.
-
One-time or ongoing virtual consultations to help older adults and their families identify the right durable medical equipment and adaptive tools for daily living- from mobility aids to bathroom safety equipment to tools that support independence in daily tasks. Practical guidance to support safety and function at home.
-
One-on-one occupational therapy sessions focused on building strength, improving functional mobility, and increase independence for daily tasks- helping older adults maintain independence and reduce fall risk.
Pediatric Services
-
Hands-on occupational therapy delivered right in your home for local families throughout Metro Detroit- addressing fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing and regulation, self-care and daily living skills, feeding, handwriting and visual-motor skills, and play and social skills, all within the comfort and context of your own space. Offered alongside our telehealth services for families who want the option of in-person care.
-
Virtual occupational therapy addressing the full range of outpatient OT needs- fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing and regulation, self-care and daily living skills, feeding, handwriting and visual-motor skills, executive functioning, and social-emotional development- all from the comfort of home.
-
Support for families navigating their child's school-based services- helping you understand evaluations, IEPs, and accommodations, and advocate effectively for what your child needs. This can also include meeting directly with school staff- public or private- to provide recommendations on self-regulation, sensory supports, and fine motor/handwriting concerns.
-
One-time or regular check-ins for families who want expert OT guidance without committing to weekly therapy- addressing concerns like sensory processing, self-regulation, feeding, fine motor and handwriting skills, and daily living routines. We'll troubleshoot challenges, track progress, and adjust strategies as your child grows.
FAQ
-
Pediatric OT supports the whole child- not just a specific skill. Depending on your child's individual needs and goals, sessions may address sensory processing, self-regulation, feeding, developmental milestones, fine and visual motor skills, coordination, play, self-care, executive functioning, and participation at home and school.
-
Thrive in Motion is a private-pay occupational therapy practice. Payment is due at the time of service. While we do not bill insurance directly, we can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
